With jobs being scarce in the rural parts of Malaysia, which is the majority, I think MOOCs could have a big impact on poverty alleviation when designed properly and with government support and infrastructure.

I 💯 agree, because too many MOOCs are simply ploys to make money from students who can’t access traditional education channels. I’m not saying MOOCs aren’t powerful, but we have a ways to go before they truly allow students to access good jobs
